Fyrsta varan var framleidd fyrir meira en tveimur áratugum

Purity Herbs var stofnað á Akureyri 1994. Stofnendur þess voru Ásta Kristín Sýrusdóttir og André Raes, eftir að hafa. uppgötvað ótrúlegan árangur eftir notkun á heimagerðu jurtakremi.

Næstu skref

Það vildi svo til að afi drengsins var Böðvar Jónsson apótekari í Akureyrarapóteki, hann undraðist mjög þessa einstöku virkni í kreminu og kom að máli við Ástu og hvatti þau til að hefja framleiðslu á þessum sérstöku náttúruvörum svo fleiri fengju að njóta góðs af Undrakreminu og öðrum græðandi kremum.

Með ráðgjöf, hvatningu og hjálp Böðvars og Iðnþróunarfélagsins var Purity Herbs stofnað og hjólin fóru að snúast og þar með Purity Herbs orðið fyrsta snyrtivörfyrirtækið á Íslandi til að framleiða náttúrulegar snyrtivörur.

upphafið

Kveikjan að stofnun Purity Herbs var af einskærri af tilviljun. André átti áhugamál sem tók hug hans allan en það var að búa til krem, olíur og te úr jurtum og öðrum náttúruefnum.

Eftir að hann fluttist til Íslands opnaðist honum nýr heimur í þessu sambandi því þar óx fjöldinn allur af heilnæmum, villtum og hreinum jurtum sem hann gat nýtt í þessa tilraunastarfsemi sína. Afraksturinn fór til vina og vandamanna til að reyna að draga úr húðkvillum og bæta ástand húðarinnar.

Á þessum tíma, árið 1993 vann Ásta á leikskóla í bænum og þar var lítill drengur sem var með mikil útbrot og exem. Ásta fékk leyfi hjá móður drengsins til að bera á hann eitt af þessum jurtakremum. Árangurinn lét ekki á sér standa, á nokkrum dögum voru útbrotin næstum gróin og húðin nánast orðin heilbrigð. Þetta einstaka krem var kallað "Undrakrem" og heitir enn í dag.

Akureyri – “The Pearl of the North” – is a small city located in northern Iceland and boasts some of the cleanest air, water and nature found on our earth. This is reflected in the quality of the herbs growing in the region.

Iceland is a country of contradictions

The winter is long and cold with only a few hours daylight. In summer, the sun
hardly sets. About 11% of the country is covered by glaciers, yet there is abundant geothermal energy.

The weather is ever-changeable, and on a typical spring day you can experience all four seasons; sunshine, snow, rain and strong winds. Just like humans, our plant life needs to adapt to be able to survive.

We believe that this is the reason why the plants that survive the Icelandic climate are the fittest.

Iceland‘s history of herbal treatments

Most Icelanders have at one time or another successfully experienced herbal medicine in some shape or form.

Much research has been done on Icelandic herbs and studies show that although Icelandic plants are smaller in comparison to their counterparts in other countries they are also tougher and more potent.

Each herb has it’s own special magic to heal and benefit the skin. By selecting herbs based on their function and blending them together we are able to create uniquely effective products.
